Volunteer Doctors Kyrgyzstan Mission
A group of volunteer doctors will travel to Kyrgyzstan on a humanitarian mission, said MEP and Kyrgyzstan Consular Eleni Theocharous who heads the organisation Volunteer Doctors Cyprus.
Violence broke out in the Central Asian country after ex-leader Kurmanbek Bakiyev was ousted by protestors on May 7th. The incidents have so far killed at least 80 people and injured many more.
Theocharous will hold meetings with the Foreign Minister, the Minister of Health and the President of the interim government.
In the latest developments, ex-leader Bakiyev fled to Belarus and has been charged in absentia with ordering mass executions. Interim leader Roza Otunbayeva has issued rewards for the capture of several of Bakyiev's relatives.
