Caught Red-Handed with 50,000 Fake Euros
Limassol police have arrested three men who were caught red-handed with a bag full of 50,000 euros in counterfeit money.
The arrests followed a tip-off to the police, who followed the men to a field in Limassol at around 1.30 pm. The police watched as a 31-year-old man and a 30-year-old man arrived together in a car and on a motorcycle. The 31-year-old picked up the bag full of counterfeit money and got back into his car to leave the field. Police stopped the car and motorcycle and arrested both men along with the 23-year-old registered owner of the car.
The money was in 50 euro notes which police said appeared at first glance to be fake.
