Pensioner Killed In Accident - Underaged Driver

An 84-year-old Nicosia woman was killed in Limassol yesterday afternoon in a road accident involving a 17-year-old boy driving his father's Mercedes, said police.

The teenager ran a red light on Panagioti Anagnostopoulou road and hit another car at the crossroads at around 1pm. Pensioner Kyriaki Xenophontos, who sitting in the back of the car, was killed in the impact and the 45-year-old driver was hospitalised.

The 17-year-old and his father were both arrested during the course of the investigation.
