Factory Ordered to Stop Machine After Death

Government labour inspectors and police have ordered a paper processing factory in Moni to shut down a machine after a Syrian worker was killed in an accident at 11.30 this morning..

State coroner Elena Antoniou said that the man's body was completely mangled after the machine started unexpectedly while he was checking it. The 39-year-old worker was in the country illegally because his resident's permit had expired in March, said police.

Limassol crime police are investigating the case and have arrested two Limassol men, 48 and 50, who ran the factory.
