First Cyprus Embassy Opens in Slovakia

President Demetris Christofias is due back on the island from Slovakia today after launching the first Cyprus Embassy in Bratislava.

The President of Slovakia Ivan Gasparovic attended the ceremony, which Christofias described as a historic event, saying that the 'opening of the Embassy was a duty owed to Slovakia for its consistent support for Cyprus and its struggle for reunification, the termination of occupation and the withdrawal of foreign troops.'
