Cyprus Community Media Centre Launched
The Cyprus Community Media Centre (CCMC) is set to open tomorrow with an event attended by guests of honour Elders Desmond Tutu, Jimmy Carter and Lakhdar Brahimi.
The CCMC is committed to a more democratic and participatory media landscape in Cyprus and is currently collecting stories from people across the island who are interested in sharing anecdotes, thoughts, testimonies and fairy tales about themselves.
These stories will on their website as well as exhibited to the public on evening of their opening on December 9, 2009.
The CCMC will organise workshops, providing access to digital media equipment and production support in order to assist members of civil society by giving them the knowledge, opportunity and access to get their message heard.
