Man Run Down By Truck - Nicosia

A 63-year-old Nicosia man was run down by his own truck which he had parked on the side of the road as he was loading rubbish onto the vehicle.
The tragic accident happened yesterday at 2.25pm as Andreas Konstantinou was working in a Nicosia road, said police.
The heavy truck rolled forward off the pavement and onto the road, injuring Konstantinou who was a few metres in front of the truck, said police. A member of the public managed to enter the truck and stop it before it injured anyone else.
Konstantinou was taken to hospital where doctors certified he was dead on arrival.
Nicosia traffic police are investigating the causes of the accident.
