Two Dead in New Year Day Road Accident
Two men were killed in a road accident in Paphos at 7.15pm on New Year's Day, said police.
The victims are 30-year-old Andreas Thoma from Larnaca and 45-year-old Andreas Georgiou from Choletria in Paphos. The drivers were on Ayiou Georgiou - Mamonion road when they collided with each other. Police investigating the cause of the accident said that neither of the drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Although they were rushed to Paphos General Hospital, doctors could do nothing more than certify their deaths. Paphos traffic police are looking into the tragedy.
Meanwhile, in a separate road accident, an 85-year-old man who was seriously injured and being treated in hospital, finally succumbed to his injuries on January 3rd. Tryfonas Ioannides was involved in an accident in Nicosia on New Year's Day.
