Man Attacks Brother in Attempted Murder

Detectives are investigating an attempted murder after a Syrian man attacked his 36-year-old brother with a knife and tried to kill him.

CID said that a patrol car was in Rigenis Street in downtown Nicosia yesterday at 2.45pm when they saw three men carrying a fourth man who was covered in blood. They were putting the man into the backseat of a car when police approached them to ask what was happening. The three men said that they were taking the victim to the hospital because he had been stabbed by his brother.

The 36-year-old was taken to hospital by detectives with injuries to his left arm and shoulder. After being questioned, he confirmed that he had an argument with his 28-year-old brother, who injured him with a knife. The 28-year-old was taken into custody last night, said police, who are continuing their investigation.
