Special Needs Schools Set for Improvement
The Ministry of Education is set to improve facilities for special needs children, said a ministry spokesman.
The improvements will be based on a study by academics who are experts in special education.
There are nine schools in Cyprus which offer special education. The schools are run by 139 educators and serve 288 children.
During the 2010-2011 school year, the ministry spent 400,000 euros on employing teaching assistants, buying educational material and giving grants to parents associations, said the spokesman.
