Man Killed, Children Injured in Troodos Road Accident

cyprus road safetyA 39-year-old Greek national man was killed and three children injured in a road accident on the Nicosia-Troodos road last night, said police.

At 8.30pm, Anthoupolis resident Demetris Ramakis collided with another car driven by a 36-year-old woman who had three children in her vehicle.

Ramakis was killed in the crash, and the woman's three children, aged 15, 12 and 5, were taken to Nicosia Generl Hospital. The 15-year-old suffered head injuries and the 12-year-old and 5-year-old were kept for observation at Makarios Hospital.

Their mother was kept overnight at Nicosia General Hospital and police said that she is out of danger.

Morphou traffic police are investigating the cause of the tragic accident.
