New School Opens in Larnaca

President Demetris Christofias welcomed the opening of the new Aradippou Lyceum, saying that 'a new school is always a source of renewed hope for the future.'

Saying that schools are centres of knowledge, ethics and freedom of thought, he added that the promotion of critical thinking and the cultivation of the skills and talents of children are the most important activities. Christofias said that the aim and purpose of schools are to cultivate the love of language and culture, respect for diversity and cultural and religious pluralism.
