Teenager Killed in Road Accident

An 18-year-old teenager was killed in a road accident yesterday morning in Larnaca, said police.
Marinos Lazarou Philippou's life was cut short at 12.30 am, when the car he was travelling in as a passenger smashed into a roadside metal pole on the Larnaca-Dromolaxia ring road.
He and the 18-year-old driver of the car were rushed to Larnaca General Hospital, where Philippou was found dead on arrival. Police said that the driver is out of danger and has been kept in hospital for treatment.
Larnaca traffic police said that the cause of the accident is unknown, but that it involved the driver losing control of the car, crashing first into the pole and ending up on the right-hand side pavement of the road.
