Police Appeal for Information on Nicosia Road Fatality

Police are appealing for anyone who saw a fatal road accident on Omirou Street in Strovolos yesterday to come forward after a 74-year-old man was killed while crossing the road.

A 27-year-old man driving a car veered around parked cars on the corner of the road, hitting the pensioner Christos Pourgourides in the process, said police. The owners of the cars have been charged for parking illegally.

The driver of the car tested negative for alcohol, said police. The accident happened at around 8.30am yesterday morning.
