13th Blast Victim is Brain Dead
19-year-old Antonis Charalambous, who was fighting for his life in Nicosia General Hospital after the deadly explosion at Mari naval base on July 11th, has been pronounced brain dead, said authorities.
An MRI confirmed that the young man is wholly brain dead, said doctors and psychologists.
He was admitted into intensive care on July 11th with head injuries after the massive blast at Evangelos Florakis naval base.
Earlier today, eight other victims were buried. Four more, including 19-year-old twin brothers Miltiades and Christakis Christoforou, will be laid to rest tomorrow.
