New Road Kellaki-Eptagonias

Construction is to start soon on a new 6.1 million euro road between Kellaki and Eptagonias, said the government today.

Kellaki is a village in the Limassol district and the new seven kilometre road will benefit its community as well as the communities of Arakapas, Sykopetra, Profitis Ilias, Melini, Odou and Ora. The government is keen to bring young people back to the villages and outlying communities, which are slowly dying off from a lack of economic activity.

"This project demonstrates in practice the government's decision not to let the economic crisis affect our development policy," said Minister for Communications and Works Nicos Nicolaides.

Construction is set to start in January 2010 and is estimated to take 78 weeks or less.
