November Tourism Revenue Down 16%
Tourism revenue for the month of November fell an estimated 16% year-on-year to 61 million euros, said the Cyprus Statistical Service today.
In November 2008 receipts from tourism amounted to 72.4 million euros. Overall, revenue from tourism for the January to November period fell an estimated 16.7% to 1.45 billion euros year-on-year, according to the survey.
The steady decline throughout 2009 in Cyprus' tourism income has contributed significantly to a rise in unemployment and a corresponding fall in GDP.
