Swine Flu Vaccinations Extended
Cyprus' ongoing swine flu vaccination programme is to be opened to all members of the age group from six months to 65 years, said the Ministry of Health (MoH) in a statement.
The announcement follows reports from Turkish-Cypriot media that a third person has died of swine flu in the north of the island. Three people have passed away from the disease in the government-controlled areas, all three were sufferering from other diseases in addition to H1N1.
The extended programme will start on Monday December 28th and the MoH confirmed that it has proceeded without any serious side effects reported. People aged 65 and over who are in vulnerable groups are also eligible for innoculation.
"All individuals who have not been innoculated and are in the mentioned groups should be vaccinated without delay," said the ministry.
