August Tourist Arrivals Up 10.8% yr/yr

The number of tourist arrivals rose 10.8 percent to 337,013 in August versus the same period last year, said the Cyprus Statistical Service (CYSTAT).

Tourists from Russia increased 36.3 percent to 50,989 and there was an increase of 4.9 percent in tourist arrivals from the United Kingdom.

For the period January – August 2011 arrivals of tourists rose 12.2 percent to 1.669.887 compared to 1.488.329 in same period last year, said CYSTAT.
