The Maltese workers were transported to Limassol General Hospital at 5.10pm December 20th by a helicopter from Akrotiri Airbase supported by Limassol Port Police.

According to Ministry of Defence information, the two crew members are out of danger. It is the third injury in the operation, after a Dutch crew member was hit by a heavy piece of metal which came loose. The man was airlifted to Cyprus and transferred back to Holland for surgery.

Noble Energy is drilling for offshore natural gas in Block 12 and is expected to announce its results by the end of the week. Estimates project natural gas reserves of 3-9 trillion cubic feet (tfc).
