Top Greek DJ, Nikos Souliotis, will be on the decks together with vocalist Helena Panayi. Plus also spinning top tunes will be Dino G and Peter from Mix FM. Entrance is €20 and it’s an open bar. Doors open at 11.30pm.  Call 9667 1027 for info and reservations.

On Christmas Eve at the Ayia Napa Municipal Conference Hall there’s a free concert call ‘All That Jazz’. 

The Flea Market in Asomotos near Fasouri, L/ssol will be open on Christmas Eve.  Vendors include an English Deli, Hunting and camping equipment, a florist and furniture shop.  Open from 9am-7pm.  Santa will be there to give out presents.  For more info call 7777 8828.

On Christmas Day from 5-6pm in the Galata village square in Troodos there will be local choirs singing and a firework display together with wine and local delicacies.

On Thurs 22nd Dec at 8.30pm the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra will be performing Christmas carols at the Strovolos Municipal theatre.  The concert will feature the ERT and the Leandros Sitaros choirs together with baritone Costas Marvogenis.  Tickets are on sale now at €12 from the box office 7777 7745 more from the website .  There is also a performance at the Rialto theatre in L/sol on Dec 21st.

The Nicosia Community church (20, Gladstone Street) has a Carol service and lesson reading on Dec 24th at 6.30pm.  Everybody is welcome.  For more information call 2278 3101.
The Christmas Fairground in the moat (near Oxi Sq) is open through the festive period until Jan 8th.  Opening times are from 6-10pm weekdays and 10am – 11pm at the weekend.
The dub reggae ensemble Zion Train Live will be performing in Acropolis Park in Strovolos on Dec 23rd as part of their European tour.  Entry is €15. 

The Combined Service Rambling Club (CRSC) will be walking off all the Christmas excess on Boxing Day (Mon 26th Dec).  The ramble is a circular on in the Episkopi area, 4½ Miles/Grade 1.  No need to book – just turn up.

On Dec 28th, Jazz singer Sarah Fenwick and pianist Marios Toumbas perform jazz classics with saxophonist Iacovos Parpas and contrabassist Irinaeos Koullouras at the Blue Bar in the Classic Hotel in Nicosia. Performances are from 9:30 - 12pm. Call 22664006 for reservations.

The Vienna Ball takes place on Friday January 13th at the Hilton Park Hotel from 7.30pm – 2am.   The Ball will start with a ‘Grand Opening’ accompanied by a symphony orchestra and dancing debutante couples. Dimitris Taliotis solo exhibition dedicated to B Movies and gangster films from the 70’s and 80’s is on at the Ex Cyprus Airways Offices, Spyrou Kyprianou Ave, N/sia.  Call 9998 7543.

Award-winning local photographer Louis Tsiakkiros is showing his collection of underwater photos taken in Indonesia.  You can see them at the Bank of Cyprus Headquarters at Ayia Paraskevi in N/sia.  The exhibition is open weekdays 9am-8pm and weekends 9am-2pm.

The Complete Sculptures of Edgar Degas is in Cyprus at the Evagoras Lanitis Centre, Lanitis Carob Mill in L/ssol.  The exhibition is on until till Feb 12th next year; opening times are every day (except Mon) from 10am-1pm and 4-8pm and on Sat & Sun from 4-8pm.   All 74 bronze sculptures by Degas will be on show.
