Man Fall From 4th Floor Rooftop - Neighbors Shocked, Saddened

A 37-year-old man fell off a fourth-floor roof from an apartment building in Makedonitissa in Nicosia, shocking and saddening neighbors and guests of New Year Day lunch celebrations.

The man as lying in a foetal position with blood on his face, said an eyewitness. He landed on his legs, one of which was broken in several places. Had he fallen on his head, he would not have survived, said the eyewitness, who wants to remain anonymous. The man was taken to hospital for treatment and the eyewitness said that he was able to communicate and was answering questions from concerned citizens.

According to information, the man is a patient in a psychiatric hospital and was visiting family for New Year's Day. It is not certain whether it was a suicide attempt and police are investigating the accident.
