Shotgun Pellets Found in Media CEO Body

Ten pellets were found in murdered media group CEO Andys Hadjicostis's body, said police.

The pellets came from a hunting shotgun and were in his chest and back, according to forensic evidence.

Two unknown persons on a motorcycle ambushed the well-known and popular businessman as he was getting out of his car outside his home in Engomi, Nicosia.

An outpouring of grief has followed his untimely death. He was just 41 and recently married with two stepchildren.

Politicians, friends and family members are stunned by the crime, which is still under investigation by police. So far, no suspects have been arrested, and authorities are studying video from embassies in the area, as well as computer records from Hadjicostis' personal PCs. The motive behind the murder is still unknown.

"We will do everything we can to solve this terrible crime," said President Demetris Christofias, who visited the Hadjicostis residence this morning to offer his condolences.

Andy Hadjicostis' funeral will be held tomorrow, January 13th, in Ayios Omologitaes Church, Nicosia, at 12.30pm.
