Young Woman Found Murdered in Amathus, Limassol
An unidentified woman was found murdered in Amathus area in Limassol, said police, who believe that she was possibly taken from a beach in Germasoyia and her body dumped further up the seafront road.
A tourist couple discovered the woman lying in a pool of blood at 4.30pm this afternoon, and police said that she had been hit in the head with a large stone causing fatal wounds.
So far her identity is unknown and her description is of a woman 1.60m, Caucasian, possibly European, aged 25-35, said investigators. A witness at a Germasoyia beach came forward and gave a statement, leading police to believe she had been there first.
Some personal effects belonging to the victim were found in Germasoyia beach, but there were no identifying documents. Investigators are looking into some other items found near her body which are being forensically examined. It is the third murder reported this week, after a Nicosia betting shop owner was shot down yesterday, and a 75-year-old man was deliberately run down in Paphos.
