Health Ministry Investigates Sudden Death of 23-year-old Man
Health Minister Stavros Malas said his ministry is investigating the sudden death of a 23-year-old man from Denia whose life was cut short on Friday due to possible medical negligence, says a report on Sigmalive.com.
Charalambos Charalambous drove himself to Nicosia General Hospital's first aid department with unbearable chest pains at 5pm, and shouted at nurses and doctors that he couldn't stand the pain. After testing him and receiving the results, however, Charalambous was given a sedative and sent home.
A few hours later, his mother found him dead at his house.
Malas told Sigma that he expects the investigation results in about 10 days. The family is considering whether to bring their own pathologist and a police officer to the autopsy, according to the report.
