Tougher Anti-Smoking Proposals
The ministry of health is set to toughen up anti-smoking laws and fines are planned to triple or quadruple from the current level of 85 euros.
There will also be a further crackdown on tobacco advertising, cigarette logos will be banned from umbrellas and other merchandising materials.
Building owners who do not monitor and crack down on companies which allow smoking in closed areas will be fined.
The proposals are set to be discussed over the next few weeks, said a health ministry spokesman.
