Minor Earthquake Felt in Cyprus, Egypt

earthquake eastern mediterraneanA minor earthquake in the middle of the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, measuring 5.7 on the Richter Scale, has just been felt in cities around Cyprus and according to reports, in Egypt as well.

Residents in Limassol, Nicosia and Paphos reported that their buildings were swaying and personal belongings were moved around by the vibrations. No injuries were reported.

The earthquake occurred in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea at coordinates 35.37N  28.84E Depth 50km 09/07/2012 at 13:54:58 (Universal Time), said the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
