35-year-old Driver Killed in Collision with Trees

A 35-year-old man from Geri was killed yesterday evening in a road accident after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into some trees on the Athalassa-Geri road, said police.

Demetris Herodotus was trapped in the wreckage of his car among the trees he crashed into and the fire brigade rushed to free him. But by the time he was taken to Nicosia General Hospital, he was dead on arrival.

Police have asked anyone who may have seen the accident to contact their nearest police station.
