Two Dead in Separate Road Accidents in Larnaca, Limassol
Two people have been killed in separate road accidents in the last 24 hours, according to police.
An 80-year-old woman was walking on Ioannou Kranidiotis road in Larnaca when she was knocked down by a car driven by a 33-year-old man. The accident happened at 6.30am this morning.
Anna Loizou was rushed to Larnaca General Hospital but did not survive her injuries.
A police spokesman said that the traffic lights where the accident took place were not working and that the driver had tested negative for alcohol. The driver responsible has been arrested for questioning.
In Limassol, a 29-year-old man was killed in an accident at dawn this morning. Stelios Elia lost control of his motorcycle on Leontiou A' street. The motorcyclist hit the road and was seriously injured, later succumbing to his injuries in Limassol General Hospital, said police investigating the accident.
