Tassos Papadopoulos Body Found?
Police may have found the body of former president Tassos Papadopoulos, said a spokesman tonight, saying that DNA testing will confirm the possibility.
Papadopoulos' body was stolen from his grave in December 2009 with no clues as to who had taken it and why. Local authorities brought in Interpol and the FBI to help in the investigation with few concrete results.
An anonymous tip-off pointed police in the direction of Strovolos cemetary, where family members went to identify the body. No statement was made by the family and Papadopoulos' daughter Anastasia was distraught as she left the scene, according to CyBC reports.
Police are searching for one person, said CyBC, but no confirmation has been given of arrest warrants.
