At 735 cases, the COVID-19 coronavirus situation in Cyprus has stabilised, but it is important that families stay locked down and safe over Easter, says Dr. Marios Loizou, medical advisor to the Health Ministry.
Family gatherings are banned and Easter must be spent only with those we are living with because the virus does not care about Easter Sunday or the Resurrection, he adds.
COVID-19 advisor Professor Leontios Kostrikis was also cautiously optimistic, saying that because of society’s efforts to follow lockdown laws, the spread of the disease is being controlled in line with expectations.
“Thank you again, we are sure that if we stay focused on the same tactics, the news will keep getting better,” said Dr. Kostrikis.
In related developments, the Health Ministry released information about public sector buildings belonging to companies which were infected by COVID-19.
The Cytacomsolutions Ltd (corrected from CYTA) branch at 18, Makarios Avenue, the Larnaca Customs warehouse, the Larnaca tax department were shut down temporarily until they get the all-clear from the Health Ministry.
Worldwide, there are 2.19 million confirmed cases of coronavirus COVID-19, according to Worldometer.
