Havana Noche at Sarah’s Jazz Club

Friday, June 23rd

The famous Latin jazz band performs on Friday, June 23rd, transmitting the energy, enthusiasm, and passion of Latin music.

The band was formed in Cyprus by percussionist Constandinos Paouros and participating musicians from Cuba, Colombia, and Cyprus.

Their music is based on Latin jazz music genres such as son Cubano, salsa, timba, and cha-cha.

Among these esteemed musicians is saxophonist Charis Ioannou, who was born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1976. Charis has been making waves in the jazz world ever since he won the Woodwind Achievement Award during his studies at Berklee College of Music in 2001.

After obtaining his Master’s degree in performance from NYU, Charis returned to Cyprus where he collaborated with various musicians and groups, spreading his passion for jazz across the island and beyond.

Charis currently teaches jazz music at The University of Nicosia and hosts workshops and jam sessions.

His dedication to sharing the joy of jazz with others is truly inspiring!
