RIP Sweet Prince, Your Music is with us Forever

All hyperbole aside, Prince’s musical compositions ranged across an impressive array of genres, including jazz, blues, soul, funk, ballads, disco and rock.

He was a master of arrangements, somehow managing to combine the complex with the simple to create interesting melodies that last the test of time.

His voice had a wide range, both technically and emotionally, so he was able to express himself at many different levels, while playing over 20 instruments.

Prince’s life had a surreal meaning. In seeking to transcend the petty and small, he succeeded in rising to the level of a symbol. But he was too restless to stay on his pedestal for very long, and the music always brought him back to what was truly important to him; live performance and communicating music to the world.

He maintained his fans’ interest for his entire career, and never stopped performing, not for a moment - that’s how much he respected his audience, each member of whom loved him deeply.

Prince. June 7th, 1958 - April 21st, 2016.
