The Labour Inspection department warned that people with respiratory sensitivities could be affected as the amount of dust picks up in the atmosphere.

There is also an app developed for Android to help you track air quality around the island.
Those who suffer from asthma, and vulnerable groups like children and the elderly should take care to stay indoors until the dust levels fall. Dust allergies can cause breathing problems and damage to the eyes.
Dust from Egypt and Syria has picked up in recent years due to extremely dry conditions caused partly by global warming.
The current episode is mild compared to last year, as the photos below show.
