A 45-year-old Romanian man has been arrested on suspicion he was responsible for the death of his 46-year-old wife, who was found dead on December 17th in her Nicosia nursing home workplace.

Initially, based on the autopsy report, it was thought that the Romanian woman had died of a heart attack, but police found evidence that she had been hit in the face. The suspect has confirmed that he had a fight with his wife and hit her with enough force for her to fall on the ground.

Nicosia homicide detectives are continuing their investigation and the case is expected to be brought to court shortly.
