Innovative Cypriots: New App ‘Achiever’ Motivates Accomplishments

A new app called Achiever, designed and launched by Aris and Fani Christofi, is inspiring and motivating people to accomplish more by encouraging them to unlock their achievements by getting recognition and support from their followers.

Achiever was born in June 2014 inspired by a gaming console message ‘achievement unlocked’, which became a catchphrase for the siblings. Aris comments:

“This may sound crazy but it is true. After playing for hours and seeing this phrase many times we started using it for everything. Like for example, I did my laundry, achievement unlocked. I cooked, achievement unlocked. I won a Candy Crush level, achievement unlocked.”

The brother-and-sister team searched online for an app that would give them that same feeling of achievement for life’s challenges, but couldn’t find it.

“It was such a surprise that nothing like it existed yet and we started working on Achiever,” Aris told CyprusNewsReport.com.

At this stage a user can log into the app, search for challenges they are interested in, participate in some simple tasks and win gifts. They can also socialise and watch others’ achievements to have fun and see their progress.

The winner usually is the one who has the most “Respects” (votes) or if it’s a measurable challenge, then the best wins straight away. For example the fastest 100m run is won by the fastest runner who proves his claims.

“We have many challenges with gifts playing right now. Some examples are:

  • The Entertainer Challenge - Users need to open the entertainer app and select their favourite buy 1 get 1 free offer and post it within the challenge and win one year membership on the Entertainer app.
  • Best Android Gadget challenge - Users need to post their favourite gadget and the winner will get a SONY SWR10 wearable gadget.
  • Keep Calm and play… challenge - Users need to post their favourite PS4 game and the winner will get the Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 disc for PS4 console.
  • Coffee- Player Challenge - Users need to state with which soccer player they would like to have a coffee and the winner will get a 20 EUR voucher from Presse Cafe.

Using the app is straight forward. Users can download the app for free from Playstore (Android) or app store (iPhone) and they can login through Facebook or sign up straight to the company’s servers by providing some essential informations like name, email, date-of-birth, and country.
