The perpetrator threatened them with a knife while they were in Thoma’s father’s Lokatzi restaurant and they fled in fear for their lives. He then chased after them, killing them on the road in a stabbing frenzy, then fleeing the scene of the carnage.

Christos Thoma’s murder trial started on January 12th. He has confessed to killing the three young men in Limassol after a dispute over the woman but later changed his mind and pleaded not guilty.

Father-of-two Christos Thoma had a violent background and was heavily into martial arts and bodybuilding. The suspect’s 62-year-old father was also arrested early in the morning of November 25th, 2015 – both men have been in trouble in the past for burglaries, theft and drug dealing. Thoma went on the run for three days, managing to evade a search carried out by helicopters criss-crossing around Limassol and surrounding areas. He was arrested in Lania after a three-day manhunt on November 26th, after a tip-off from a member of the public.

The trial has been postponed until October 20th.
